Everyone is doing fine...

Heather and Kenny are both doing well. Heather has been up with him quite a bit. It takes Heather about an hour to feed and change Kenny. When he gets up every two hours it doesn't leave Heather with much time to sleep. He seems to sleep a little more during the day (he was down for a full 4-hours yesterday afternoon). He seems to be eating very well though. He can eat for almost a full half-hour.

Look Kenny wants to be a golfer already.

One of the results of Kenny being born is that Bogey seems a little depressed.

She absolutely loves Kenny though. She periodically goes into his room to check if he's there. She actually tried to jump into the crib (this resulted in her face-planting into the side of the crib, it's way to high for her to get in). She gets very excited anytime Kenny is in sight. She sits next to you when your holding him and gives little butterfly kisses. Kenny doesn't seem phased in the least when this happens. They are going to be great friends, especially once Kenny can throw Bogey's ball.

It's Picture Time

So here is a photographical time-line of the last few days. I hope everyone enjoys.

Here is a picture of Heather on the birthing ball - I like to call this shot pre-epidural.

Then at 8:57 PM Kenneth David was born.

Kenny hanging out with mom! Heather likes the sound of being called mom.

Mom and son trying to relax, it was a long day.

I Would Like to Introduce.....

Kenneth David Lyon arrived today (after much prodding) at 8:57 PM. He's 8lbs 9oz and is a long 22 and 1/4". I'm exhausted (I can only imagine how tired Heather is (she is a saint by the way)). We'll definitely blog about this more in the very near future. Here are a couple of pictures for you to enjoy.

No baby yet

I just wanted to let everyone know that Heather has not delivered the baby yet (not that she isn't trying). Heather went past her original due date which was Father's Day June 15th. I'm a little upset with her because that would have been the Father's Day gift to top all Father's Day gifts. I told our neighbors that the 15th was Heather's original due date, so Sunday morning around 10 am our neighbor Cathy called. "Are you going to the hospital yet?" I think she is almost as excited about the baby as we are. We'll Heather's real due date is July 5th. I'm hoping for a 4th of July baby, so he can have fireworks at every birthday party.

Work has been a little exciting for me. My co-worker Don has left Yale to go and work for Becton Dickinson who makes the cell sorters we operate. I'm going to miss Don, he's a great guy. But the good part is, I'll see him periodically when my machine breaks down. Don's replacement started this week. His name is Zhao Zhao. He's an MD/PhD from China by way of Jefferson in Philadelphia. He's very smart and he already knows how to basically operate our machines. The only problem so far is that Human Recourses did not file his working visa papers so he technically isn't working at Yale, he's volunteering. They are going to find some way to give him a bonus once the paper work is straightened out.

Dad and I are going to the GHO tomorrow (I know it's called the Traveler's now, but everyone still refers to it as the GHO). Dad got us some great seats. He got Pavilion tickets. They are for the air-conditioned section overlooking the 18th green. It includes an open bar and free food (Woo-Hoo). I need to sneak my cell phone into the tournament just in case Heather goes into labor.

My wife is so wonderful. She's carrying my baby and she hasn't really complained. She even called me during her lunch break today to talk. She was outside and commented on how nice the weather is. She even told me I should golf after work because it was so nice out. She qualified this statement by adding that I should golf now because I won't be golfing nearly as much in the near future. I'll gladly decrease my golfing once our baby arrives.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Yesterday was our 4th Anniversary. I’ve tricked Heather into staying married to me this long. We’ve actually been together now for just over 13 years. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Pepe’s Pizza.

Romantic I know, but we didn’t have a lot of time for dinner last night. We had to eat between me getting off work and us going to birthing class. Remember he-he-he-he-hoo.

Can you believe this was 4-years ago?
