Happy Halloween!

I think Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I still love dressing up and handing out candy to the kids. I had to work at the cleaners today, and everybody dressed up. I called my costume the Halloween Cat. I had a blinking Halloween shirt, black and orange striped stockings and kitty ears. The other costumes were, Marilyn Monroe, Minnie Mouse, Dracula, and a toned down showgirl. I forgot to take the camera or I'd post the pictures. We had the customers vote on the best costume, with the prize of the winner leaving an hour early. The contest got everybody in a good mood, and the customers were excited that their votes mattered. It was like our own American Idol. We all want to do it every Saturday from now on.

When I got home Kenny was down for a nap, and I had to wake him for supper and Trick or Treating. He was very grumpy getting into his costume, but going over our neighbors house to talk and show off our walking did cheer him up a bit. We weren't able to get any photos tonight, but I have a couple I took the other day when I was attempting a Halloween photo session.

Here is the "family pumpkin" doing its job, all hacked to pieces and glowing in the front window tonight.

Gearing up for Halloween!

This morning we set out early to get a pumpkin from our local orchard. It was very windy and a little chilly. Kenny didn't want to stand and pose with the pumpkins so here come the action shots.

Kenny on the run, literally!

Kenny "petting" our pumpkin.

Family shot with our prize pumpkin.

Afterwards, Kenny and I met up with April, Kayla and Sofia at the mall, for Our Second Annual mall trick or treat. It was alot of fun, and like last year total chaos. That many kids jacked up on candy and running around the mall is exausting. We didn't even make it around the whole mall. Kenny skipped his first nap this morning, so he was starting to get tired when we got there. All three kids got a pumpkin to decorate and lots of candy.

Sofia the witch, Kayla the mermaid, and Kenny the monkey

***Attention mall customers, there is a cute monkey loose in the mall, proceed with caution.***

Here is Kayla with Dorothy, I don't think she knew who she was, but she liked her ruby slippers and Toto in the basket.

Here is Kayla, the little mermaid, afraid of the waterfall, one of my favorites.

UUUUConnnn... Huskies......

This past Saturday Heather and I went to the UConn homecoming football game. I got to catch up with my friend Al from Brannigan's. I don't miss working long hours serving drunk people but I do miss the people I worked with. There was a nice group of us. Al works at UConn so he was able to get us tickets and he had a nice tailgating party we joined. The last UConn game Heather and I went to was homecoming 2-years ago. It was in a near monsoon. We were soaked to the bone before kick-off. We were supposed to get drenched again but the rain held off. We only had to put up with cool temperatures. It was about 45* and windy at kick-off. Thanks for the invite Al, we had a great time.

You could see the state capital from our seats

As you can see the weather did not affect Al. I knew Al would be wearing shorts, he reminds me of my childhood best-friend Ben Skinner.

Heather and I bundled up a little more.

So what is Kenny going to be for Halloween......

Bear?

Dog?

No, he's going to be a chunky monkey (one of his many nicknames)

Kenny Gardening and House Cleaning

We're trying to put Kenny to work at an early age. We already have he weeding the garden (we just have to work on what is a weed and what is a flower).

And Heather now has him folding the laundry. He really likes shaking out the wrinkles.

Few Videos for You

I was going through the camera the other day and found some funny videos of Kenny so I thought I would share them.

Sorry for all the boring photos of pots and pans. I included a few of Kenny and Heather to keep your excitement up.

New Fridge

This week we got a new refrigerator. Our old one was starting to leak. We tried to replace the door seal, but that didn't help, so we bit the bullet and bought a new one. It is much bigger than the old one and is an energy star, so hopefully it will end up saving us money. Well, I guess it will only save us money if we can keep Kenny out of if.

And here are some pictures of Kenny lately,

Copying Bogey.

and the rest down the stairs.

The Big E

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I just don't know where time is going. Two weeks ago April and the girls and Kenny and I went for our annual trip to the Big E. We didn't have enough time to see everything we usually do, but we all had a good time. Kayla and I got to ride the Ferris Wheel again, which was very fun. Kalya said she saw her house from up there, but I just couldn't spot it. We saw all the usual animals, chicks hatching, cows, pigs and the huge Clydesdale's horses. We got there just in time to see the parade and have Mardi Gras beaded necklace's thrown at our heads.

The best picture of all the kids wearing their new beads.(Don't they look excited?)

Kayla went on all her favorite rides later on...

The Jeep,

the swings,

and the high flying helicopters.
