Christmas Eve

We did quite a bit of traveling on Christmas Eve. We went to Nana and Granddad Lyon's house for lunch. We opened some Christmas gifts which made Kenny, Richie, and Becca very happy.

Becca and I were growling and roaring like a lion at each other. Why? Why not?

Who is goofier Becca or her mom? I wonder where she gets it from?

Kenny playing with Richie and one of his favorite new toys - The Thomas Tank Train Set. They both really like Thomas.

We then brought Kenny home for a quick nap and it was off to Granpa's and Pat's for dinner (and cheesy potatoes!) and more gifts.

The best picture we could get of the trio.

"You got it? Great I'm outta here. I have trains I need to play with."

Pre-Christmas Party

We had our Christmas get together at my parent's house with Auntie Joyce. It was nice to see her. Unfortunately, Ed was not able to make it. Here is what you missed Ed.

Does Kenny pick-up habits from his Dad? You be the judge.

No New Shed For Geoff

We had a large dead tree that overhung our shed. I checked to make sure that our insurance would cover the replacement cost if for some strange reason the tree fell and totally obliterated our shed. We had a huge windstorm this past weekend. Unfortunately the wind blew the tree in the opposite direction. I was so disappointed.

Does Kenny Like Christmas Lights?

This video is of Kenny waking up the second morning we had the tree decorated. I really wish I got video of the first morning that he woke up after we had the tree decorated. He ran out of his room and stood in front of the tree with his hands on his hips saying, "Hmmmmmm." Then he put his hand on his chin like "The Thinker" and did the same thing. He was trying to figure out why the tree wasn't lit that morning. Late in the day Heather turned it on using the floor button, which Heather did not think he saw her doing. I guess she was wrong.

The Blurr

It seems that our picture taking is going to be slowing down for a bit. Kenny refuses to stay still and we would need a camera that could do something like this to keep him in focus.

We got and decorated our Christmas tree this weekend. Kenny thinks the tree is a new toy. Heather was commenting that she hardly needed to clean-up Kenny's toys yesterday when he went down for a nap because he was playing with the tree and ornaments.

Kenny is very cute, he was following all the bulbs on the tree telling us what color they were, "Pink, red, yellow, blue, green...Pink, red, yellow, blue, green.... Pink.." Did I say cute, it's a little annoying after the 87th time. He also tries counting all the bulbs on the tree; fortunately he usually stops that at 13.

Here is funniest thing Kenny did with the Christmas tree. Heather has an ornament that is a glowing fireplace. Kenny sees it for the first time and walks over to it. He puts his face near it and says, "hot". He then tried to blow it out like a birthday candle for a few minutes. Heather found it to be very entertaining.

A Few Things

Kenny's Grandpa got Kenny the following gift -

It's a really cool lion that was cut from a single piece of paper. There is a guy who comes to the school every year to do this very intricate paper cutting and origami. We have to have it frame it's really cool.

Kenny should have been Gary Busey for Halloween. Before he got his haircut you could see the resemblance.

He didn't like his Halloween costume that Heather worked very hard on. He hated it so much we don't have a picture of him in it yet.

I think Austin Powers was visiting Yale last week. I saw his car outside of my old building last Friday.

Halloween and Denver

I saw this entrance decoration when I was driving home on Halloween. I glad Kenny didn't seen it he would say, "It's OK. It's OK. Bye bye!

I had to go to Denver for work last week. Here are some of the highlights of my trip.

Smash Burger and Smash Fries

It was OK but nothing better than Five-Guys.

I saw this in the Airline Magazine when I was on the plane. Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that they have to advertise that Pacemakers are always allowed when flying?

They need to watch out there were so many people dressed like they are ready to go hunting at the drop of a hat. Camouflage shirt, camouflage pants, camouflage hat, camouflage shoes, and camouflage backpacks.

How our walks end up

I thought I would show you how our walks have been ending lately. Kenny loves Fall and the leaves that come with it. I've never seen a kid that is as fascinated with leaves as Kenny. It's been harder and harder to get outside with Kenny with the colder weather and shorter daylight. Kenny loves picking up leaves and when he gets tired he just sits down in a pile of leaves and looks at them.

Weekend Update

You might be looking at the cutest pimp in history. I told Heather we should make him a pimp for Halloween but she didn't like that idea.

"Raise the roof!"

Kenny loves being outside and taking walks. He really loves looking at leaves. He is going to be so disappointed when the ground is covered in snow and there are no more leaves to look at. We went for a walk this Saturday. This is what Kenny does when he gets tired. Do you think he is going to be an arborist?

We also ventured to the mall this weekend. It's crazy that the Christmas stuff is up before Halloween. When we were in Sears guess where Kenny went? That's right, directly for the Mickey and Minnie Mouse displays. The Mickey Mouse Club House might be Kenny new favorite television show. He will bring you the remote (mote in Kenny language) and say, "Mouuuussse!" A little girl came and began hugging Mickey while we were there. Kenny gave her a dirty look, he did not understand why she was hugging his mouse.

Guess what happened to this tree Kenny is touching? That's right 2-seconds later it was on the floor.

Pumpkin Picking

This past weekend we finally went out to get this year's pumpkin for Halloween. As you can see Kenny didn't like walking down the path at Lyman Orchard when we first got there. He made me carry him down towards the pumpkins.

Here is our first picture of Kenny sitting on a pumpkin. The classic picture every parent is required to take around Halloween.

Kenny finally decided that the path wasn't that bad. He started running around.

"Let's go Dad, don't you know they have apples over there also?"

Kenny was more excited by the apple that he picked and eat than the pumpkin we got.

We're Still Here

Well, time to get back to blogging. We did celebrate my birthday a little while ago. Kenny enjoyed the frosting from the lemon cake my Mom made.

Kenny still does not like people singing Happy Birthday though.

"Finally Dad, now give me the ice cream (hold the cake)." I don't know why my son does not like cake, that's crazy.

Heather and April took their yearly trip to the Big E. They enjoyed the sites and food but did not try the fried butter. See we have disgusting food here too. I think that fried butter out grosses fried Oreos and fried Mars bars. I did learn of chocolate covered bacon which does intrigue me.

Kenny telling everyone that there is a car behind him. Aaahooooo! He liked the lights and siren.

Kenny enjoying watching the rides, not riding them.
