So what happens when you leave a 3-year old alone with markers?

So, it't not recommended to go to the bathroom whenever markers are even remotely in reach of a 3-year old. Here is a picture of what Kenny did to himself in a couple of minutes. He stripped and decorated himself. Luckily they were washable markers. Look at the detailed coloring around the belly button and between the eyes.

Here is a picture of our Christmas decorations. Kenny calls the reindeer horses or cows.

We continually learn things from Kenny. The other day for instance, we learned that yogurt can be considered a finger food.

Before the Storm

Well, before our late October snow storm we went to Lyman Orchards to pick a pumpkin for Halloween and some apples. We also fed some ducks and Kenny almost joined them.

Kenny and Mom heading down to the pond

Heather making sure Kenny doesn't join the ducks. Heather had already grabbed Kenny's sleeve a step before Kenny went swimming.

Kenny posing with his pumpkin.

Kenny lost something.

He was still looking for it under other pumpkins.

"Dad can you see now?"

Is this the proper method for picking a good pumpkin?

I thought this was a cute picture of Kenny.

So how is your October ending?

Well, our ended pretty terribly. We had the most damaging snowstorm I ever remember. There were more than 830,000 people in the state without power. We lost power Saturday night and didn't get it back until Wednesday. Mom and Dad got it back the on Thursday. Vicky and Rich were the lucky ones, only loosing power until very early Monday morning. They were saints because we were all able to get showers and warmth at their place. Thanks again.

Kenny and I were eating with Mom and Dad on Saturday this was what was coming down around 12:30-1.

This is what I ran into when I got off the highway on the way home, around 2.

So the snow originally wasn't supposed to arrive until about 10PM on Saturday, this was what we had at about 3 Saturday afternoon. Theses branches are usually way above our window, as you can see, they were well below it with the snow.

I was hoping my neighbors tree would fall on my shed. I would really like a replacement shed (I checked it's covered under my insurance with a small deductible).

More carnage..

Our Dogwood tree being stretched to the max, touching/covering our fur tree. We were lucky, I shook the snow out of our Dogwood 4-times so it wouldn't snap. We only lost 1 branch. If we didn't shake the snow out I'm pretty sure it would have been quite damaged.

This is about half of the tree branches I cleared out of our yard. They were just everywhere.

First School Photo

We got Kenny's first school photo. It's actually really good as you can see. We were expecting a blur or weird expression. He isn't smiling but he is very cute. This is his "I'm-an-angel-please-ignore-the-mischievous-thing-I'm-about-to-do" face.

Here is a picture of Kenny painting with shaving cream at school. It's funny because Kenny likes making a mess but he does not particularly like things being on his hands or fingers. You can see he is torn.

Where is Nana?

We went over to Nana's house the other day. No one was home when we got there. Kenny ran up and down the hall saying, "Nan? Nana?" He was confused because Nana is always home when we go to her house. We had a productive afternoon, Kenny helped me fix Nana and Granddad's shower faucet and when Granddad arrived we went to lunch. Nothing like Five-Guys after doing something manly like replacing a faucet and chalking.

We've been a little lax in our picture taking lately. It's hard to take picture of Kenny since they always turn out as a blur.

Here are some pictures from my Birthday.

Me sitting in the dark waiting for my cake.

Kenny investigating the cake. "Dad there is no ice cream, I don't want any."

Trying to get a shot of the kids.

Heather doing some kid wrangling.

Unsuccessful wrangling.

OK, so we haven't posted anything in a while....

Well neither have you. The more you comment on our blog or post in your own blog the more we will post (this is weak blackmail, I know).

So Hurricane Irene delayed the start of school for Kenny by a couple of days. We're lucky that we didn't have anything nearly as bad as what Vermont got:

We're very happy that Kenny likes going to school.

A couple of pictures of us trying to load Kenny into the car to go to school.

Kenny looking off the bridge/entrance to the back of his school.

Kenny had no problem leaving Heather. He came over and gave Heather a hug and said, "Bye, Mom." Then he ran to the toy that has beads on wires (Kenny's favorite). He was not as cooperative leaving after the first day of school though. He cried because he didn't want to leave.

Greatest Baseball Team Ever

My Dad, Heather, and I went to the New Yankee Stadium and it got me to thinking.

The Yankees had the greatest all-round baseball player ever.

They have the most recent member of the member of the 3,000 hit club.

These were the balls that were used when Jeter got to 3,000

The greatest athlete to play baseball played for the Yankees

They currently have the greatest relief pitcher ever - Enter Sandman

The Yankees have the most World Series Trophies (Commissioner's Trophy) - 7

And they have won the most World Series and have the most World Series Rings

The Yankees even have the most perfect games by any major league club. Here are the statues that commemorate Don Larson's Perfect Game (the only one thrown in a World Series).

A few of the banners around the new stadium

We took the stadium tour before the game which brought you to Monument Park, The Yankee Museum, and into the dugout.

I know it's not the same stadium but I can't believe Mickey Mantle hit a ball off the top of the facade, just short of going out of the old stadium by a few feet.

In case you forgot - it's 27-World Championships
