Orlando Vacation Day 3 - Recap

The third day of our Orlando Trip was Disney's Animal Kingdom. Kenny started the day with his morning ritual watching Jungle Junction, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, or Chuggington. We made DVDs that we could play on my computer for him.

Kenny was really not himself at Animal Kingdom. He had a runny nose and was on the tired side. We thought it might have been allergies but it turned out to be a slight cold. Here is Kenny and me on the Safari Train ride (boy he is heavy when he has to be carried).

This is how big Kenny is compared to a White Rhino (Kenny kept an eye on the Rhino, he didn't trust him).

Wildlife eating and drinking...

More wildlife eating and drinking (With worse manners, I think the one on the end tried biting me when I tried to get some chips. I know the one in the middle snarled at me.)

"Hey Dad, this is the best part of the trip so far."

Oh, what a motley crew I travel with.

Kenny and Dad riding the Flying Dinosaur Ride

Didn't it look like we were having fun? Well, pictures can lie at times. Someone wasn't feeling great and wanted a nap.

Kenny did take a nap and Mum and Dad watched him while Heather and I got to ride Expedition Everest. This is the rollercoaster that Heather and I have waited quite awhile to ride. They started construction when we were at Disney for our honeymoon. Heather was also excited to go on rides again. Heather hadn't been on a rollercoaster since before Kenny was born. Expedition Everest was worth the wait. We waited less than 5-minutes to actually ride Everest. A very nice women came by asking if there was a twosome in the ride line. I said yes and she gave us a couple of Fastpasses that she wasn't going to use. Yeah for us. I think Mum should have went on it with us.

Once we were done with Expedition Everest it was time to go on the Safari jeep ride. Kenny really seemed to enjoy this ride. He was looking around at all the animals. When we saw the elephants Kenny kept yelling, "Elephant, Elephant!"

A real rhino

My first alligator spotted on the trip (OK it's really a crocodile)

Can you spot the giraffe?

This was the only lion or tiger that we saw though

On the way out we ran into the Animal Kingdom Parade. Kenny thought it was ok at the beginning. There were a bunch of characters that Kenny didn't know. Once the well know characters came by Kenny got very excited. He reached out to hug Pluto when he came near him.

After dinner we headed to Downtown Disney for some sightseeing and shopping.

Orlando Vacation Day 2 - Recap

On the second full day in Orlando, Dad and I golfed 36-holes at Jack Nicklaus' Grand Cypress Golf Course. They had some really nice course there. One of the courses was Jack Nicklaus' tribute to the Old Course at St. Andrews, called the New Course.

Talk about some handsome golfers

We saw a bobcat stalking a crane on the shore of the pond. It was another pretty neat piece of Florida wildlife. The crane flew away before the bobcat could get close enough to pounce.

Mum, Heather, and Kenny went to Sea World on day two. Kenny was not feeling quite himself this day but he still had a great time.

and on the Pirate Ship

and on the Tea Cups

The sea lions remind me of Bogey, cute and sleepy.

All of the rides made Kenny very tired. So tired he barely made it to the bed before falling asleep.

Orlando Vacation Day 1 - Recap

When we got in to Orlando it was late in the evening. Kenny did not nap the day we left and stayed up right until we got to our hotel at around 11PM. He was exhausted and did sleep very well that day. We stayed at our favorite Orlando resort, Mystic Dunes Resort and Golf Course. Dad and I played golf on our first full day while Mum, Heather, and Kenny stayed around the hotel to give Kenny time to relax and catch up on some needed sleep.

Hmmm, interesting sign that you don't see on golf courses in Connecticut

I'll trade a beautiful course course for snow anyday of the week

Interesting skywriting we saw on the course (honest it wasn't altered at all)

Kenny checking out the pool with Nanna and Mom

Mom had to save Kenny from himself on a few occasions. He was drinking a good bit of the pool water while trying to swim.

Kenny waiting patiently for dinner. We went to my 2nd favorite hamburger joint, Fuddrucker's for dinner.
