Happy Belated B-day and Guess the Baby

I also wanted to wish our little pug Sandi a belated Happy Birthday. She turned 9 on January 20th. I love “Fat Dog”. Her skin condition has been worlds better since we put her on prednisone. She is actually growing fur back in places that she hasn’t had fur in a very long time.

Happy Birthday Sand (Yes, that is a Birthday Hamburger with extra tomato. It's Sandi's favorite.)

I also finished reflooring our kitchen. We had nice tile down but hated the grout. The grout always appeared to be dirty even right after you cleaned it. We decided to put down Pergo. I’m the Pergo Master. I’ve refloored a total of 7 rooms and 2 hallways with Pergo. If you need Pergo installed call me, my rate is $20/hr and lunch. The only problem is that I’ve gotten much better as I’ve gone on. My first is good but now I want to redo it with the new Pergo that they have come out with.

We’re also getting close to finding out the sex of our baby. So, let the guessing begin. I think the baby is going to be a girl (since it moved so much during the sonogram and since Hutchins only produce girls – see April or Heather’s Mom). Heather has said she thinks it’s going to be a boy (I’ll get an explanation on this later). Please post what you think the baby is going to be in the comment section or you can e-mail me and I’ll post it for you. Good luck and we will keep you updated.

Boy or Girl?

Happy Birthday Dad!

I would like to wish my dad a Happy 42nd Birthday (or really his 60th). Sandi was so excited she couldn’t contain herself.

We all celebrated my dad’s birthday this past Saturday. We went to Outback and had a wonderful dinner. We called ahead and still waited quite awhile (the walk-up wait was 2+ hours). My dad had a soda spilled partially on him by our waiter. The good part about the spill is that we all got free dessert (woo-hoo Chocolate Thunder, Hot Fudge Sunday, and Raspberry Cheesecake).

This incident reminded me of the Great Soda Spill of 1986. My sist…..err a girl named Vicky went to dinner with her baby brother and father at Pondarosa. She was going through an awkward stage. She insisted on carrying the tray to the table that was holding three sodas and some silverware. She proceeded to spill all the sodas onto the table while placing the tray down. She then proceeded to spill another drink on the floor while getting up to go to the salad bar. The finale was a two person casualty spilling of soda onto her and her baby brother. I think I’m going to have this incident re-enacted and captured on video so it can be passed on for generations to come. (This is a great inside family joke for those of you who I've confused).

Happy Belated Birthday April!

This past Sunday we went to Heather's Dad's house to celebrate April's birthday which was January 5th (when we were in Florida). The best part of the day for me was cheesey potatoes!!!

Woo-hooo, I found out that once you provide people with a grandchildren you can get almost whatever you want.

Sofia likes watching her sister and Auntie playing outside, while Grandpa filled the birdfeeder.

Happy Belated Holidays!!!!

Sorry, we’ve been a little delinquent in our blogging. But, let’s update. We traveled all over for Christmas. Heather and I went to my parents house on Sunday the 23rd, to have lunch with Mom, Dad, Becca, Richie, Rich, and Vicky. It was nice to see everyone and have a nice lunch. I asked my Mom if there was anything I could bring and she said a salad. So we showed up with salad in hand. When my Mom answered the door she said, “What is that?” I think someone was a little to stressed going into the holidays.

We next went to Heather’s Dad’s house to have dinner with Dad, Pat, April, Sophia, and Kayla. It was a great dinner because I got cheesey potatoes. Nothing says the holidays like cheesey potatoes, they are my absolute favorite. Sophia loves Bogey. She gets so excited when she can touch Bogey. Sophia was on the floor and petting Bogey’s back. Sophia giggled every time she touched Bogey’s fur.

"No Auntie, I'm busy right now!"

"I know I'm cute."

Pat and Sophia watching Kayla open many, many gifts.

We went to my sister’s house for Christmas day and had a wonderful lunch with my parents and the Brights. Becca and Richie were flooded with toys. Becca literally had toys up to her head (actually over her head). I think the Grandparents went a little overboard (but that is what they are supposed to do).

Can you find Becca in this pile of gifts.

We also stopped by Heather’s Mom’s house to visit her, Tom, Kayla, Sophia, and Kayla. We had a nice Lasagna lunch. Kayla got a princess’s chair that made her oh-so happy.

We followed up Christmas and New Year’s with our annual trip to Orlando. My dad and I have been going to Orlando the first week in January the last 5-years or so. It’s strictly a golf trip. 108-holes of golf in 4-days. This trip was a little different because my mom and Heather got tired of being left behind, so they decided to join us. They went shopping, to Epcot at Disney, and Seaworld while we were taking down course records. Of course the trip that my mom and Heather come on has the worst weather we’ve ever had in Orlando. The day we landed had a high of 46* with wind gusts in the 20-30 mph range. The next day was even worse, it was only the second freeze that Orlando had since 2003. It was slightly warmer (high 50*) but the winds were much worse (gusts recorded over 40 mph). It was better than being in Connecticut thought where the high barely got out of the single-digits. The next two days were much better (67* and 74*). We also had a great time eating. We went to my second-favorite burger joint, Fuddrucker’s (they’re now just slightly behind 5-Guys-Burgers-N-Fries, which is just awesome). We also got the traditional first-night steak dinner at the Black Angus Steakhouse. Mom harassed the poor waitress at Chili’s until she got her order right (he-he-he, note to all wait staff, mom does not like garlic butter). We also saw an awesome show at Downtown Disney, Cirque Du Soliel’s La Nouba. It is an amazing show of gymnastics, tumbling, and a bunch of other stuff that is hard to describe. I can’t recommend this show highly enough.

Mystic Dunes is a really nice resort that we stay at every year.

My dad and I played two rounds at the Mystic Dunes Golf Club while we were in Orlando.

I love Fuddrucker's. I'm happy they now have one at Foxwoods!

Between Christmas and our trip to Orland I got a visit from my great friend Carl Brown. Carl is my long-time friend from college. We played baseball together and shared basically the same class schedule. He was also the best man at our wedding. Things have been going well for him. He was been accepted to medical school and I couldn’t be happier for him. He is one of the most determined and hardest working people I know. Anything good that happens to Carl is well deserved. Carl still has some applications out but he maybe attending SIU (Southern Illinois University) Medical School this August. We had a nice trip that consisted of watching the Pat’s go undefeated, seeing I Am Legend, and topping the trip of with a trip to 5-Guys-Burgers-N-Fries (I told you they were my favorite). I Am Legend gets 3 out of 4-stars from me. Heather does not feel the same way, with her raging hormones, a scene in the movie involving a dog made her cry. Well, after 16 days off work I guess I need to go back.

Carl on his trip to South Africa.

By the way, I no longer have a part-time job (again). I went by Brannigan’s yesterday to get my schedule and there was a note on the door that they would be closed until further notice. I called some of the other workers to hear the scoop and I don’t think it looks good. I think Brannigan’s may finally be dead. It just seems to have been mismanaged for too long. Maybe I need to find a job at a golf store? I actually may lose money if I do.
