Happy Belated Holidays!!!!

Sorry, we’ve been a little delinquent in our blogging. But, let’s update. We traveled all over for Christmas. Heather and I went to my parents house on Sunday the 23rd, to have lunch with Mom, Dad, Becca, Richie, Rich, and Vicky. It was nice to see everyone and have a nice lunch. I asked my Mom if there was anything I could bring and she said a salad. So we showed up with salad in hand. When my Mom answered the door she said, “What is that?” I think someone was a little to stressed going into the holidays.

We next went to Heather’s Dad’s house to have dinner with Dad, Pat, April, Sophia, and Kayla. It was a great dinner because I got cheesey potatoes. Nothing says the holidays like cheesey potatoes, they are my absolute favorite. Sophia loves Bogey. She gets so excited when she can touch Bogey. Sophia was on the floor and petting Bogey’s back. Sophia giggled every time she touched Bogey’s fur.

"No Auntie, I'm busy right now!"

"I know I'm cute."

Pat and Sophia watching Kayla open many, many gifts.

We went to my sister’s house for Christmas day and had a wonderful lunch with my parents and the Brights. Becca and Richie were flooded with toys. Becca literally had toys up to her head (actually over her head). I think the Grandparents went a little overboard (but that is what they are supposed to do).

Can you find Becca in this pile of gifts.

We also stopped by Heather’s Mom’s house to visit her, Tom, Kayla, Sophia, and Kayla. We had a nice Lasagna lunch. Kayla got a princess’s chair that made her oh-so happy.

We followed up Christmas and New Year’s with our annual trip to Orlando. My dad and I have been going to Orlando the first week in January the last 5-years or so. It’s strictly a golf trip. 108-holes of golf in 4-days. This trip was a little different because my mom and Heather got tired of being left behind, so they decided to join us. They went shopping, to Epcot at Disney, and Seaworld while we were taking down course records. Of course the trip that my mom and Heather come on has the worst weather we’ve ever had in Orlando. The day we landed had a high of 46* with wind gusts in the 20-30 mph range. The next day was even worse, it was only the second freeze that Orlando had since 2003. It was slightly warmer (high 50*) but the winds were much worse (gusts recorded over 40 mph). It was better than being in Connecticut thought where the high barely got out of the single-digits. The next two days were much better (67* and 74*). We also had a great time eating. We went to my second-favorite burger joint, Fuddrucker’s (they’re now just slightly behind 5-Guys-Burgers-N-Fries, which is just awesome). We also got the traditional first-night steak dinner at the Black Angus Steakhouse. Mom harassed the poor waitress at Chili’s until she got her order right (he-he-he, note to all wait staff, mom does not like garlic butter). We also saw an awesome show at Downtown Disney, Cirque Du Soliel’s La Nouba. It is an amazing show of gymnastics, tumbling, and a bunch of other stuff that is hard to describe. I can’t recommend this show highly enough.

Mystic Dunes is a really nice resort that we stay at every year.

My dad and I played two rounds at the Mystic Dunes Golf Club while we were in Orlando.

I love Fuddrucker's. I'm happy they now have one at Foxwoods!

Between Christmas and our trip to Orland I got a visit from my great friend Carl Brown. Carl is my long-time friend from college. We played baseball together and shared basically the same class schedule. He was also the best man at our wedding. Things have been going well for him. He was been accepted to medical school and I couldn’t be happier for him. He is one of the most determined and hardest working people I know. Anything good that happens to Carl is well deserved. Carl still has some applications out but he maybe attending SIU (Southern Illinois University) Medical School this August. We had a nice trip that consisted of watching the Pat’s go undefeated, seeing I Am Legend, and topping the trip of with a trip to 5-Guys-Burgers-N-Fries (I told you they were my favorite). I Am Legend gets 3 out of 4-stars from me. Heather does not feel the same way, with her raging hormones, a scene in the movie involving a dog made her cry. Well, after 16 days off work I guess I need to go back.

By the way, I no longer have a part-time job (again). I went by Brannigan’s yesterday to get my schedule and there was a note on the door that they would be closed until further notice. I called some of the other workers to hear the scoop and I don’t think it looks good. I think Brannigan’s may finally be dead. It just seems to have been mismanaged for too long. Maybe I need to find a job at a golf store? I actually may lose money if I do.

You would definitely lose money if you got a job in a golf store.
