Catching Up

We haven't blogged in awhile but you must forgive us we're new to this whole parenting thing. Well, Kenny went to his 4-month check-up last week and Kenny is still big. He's off the chart in height and weight. He weights 20-pounds 3-oz and he's 27.25" long. The doctor said at this rate he can hold the door for his mom at his next check-up. Everything is else is fine, Kenny is a normal, very healthy baby.

Heather went to her Dad's house a couple of weekends ago for the annual Pumpkin raid. They go into the farm next to Heather's Dad's house and get the left over pumpkins. I though this was a funny picture of Sophia trying to lift a pumpkin that probably weights more than her (Kenny probably weighs more than her also).

This picture is of Kayla looking disgusted at her dirty hand.

Last weekend we went to my Mom and Dad's house to celebrate my sister's birthday a little early. It was nice to see everyone all together, we hadn't done that in awhile. I thought the best part of the day was everyone kept asking Becca how old her mom was. I told her that Vick was 47 and she kept repeating this every time you asked her how old her mom is.

Ummm, lemon birthday cake!

Richie likes ice cream and cake.

Making Noise

Kenny started making noises the other day that we have never heard before. We recorded it for future blackmail. It’s really funny, listen closely.

Hamburger Reviews

Being the connoisseurs of hamburgers that we are, this past Saturday Heather, Kenny, and I tried the new hamburger joint near French Cleaners in West Hartford. The Counter Burger (http://www.thecounterburger.com/) opened just a few weeks ago. The format is like Chili's old build a burger promotion. They give you a clip board and with a list of options you can choose for your burger. There is burger choices from 1/3 all the way up to 1 pound. There are some foo-foo options like honey cured bacon, avocados, spicy chili's, baby greens, and hard boiled egg. When we got to the store at roughly 4:45 there was a wait of 15-20 minutes. The place is very small and there was not a lot of seating. Kenny was great. He didn't fuss during the wait at all. He enjoyed looking at all the people and waitresses that were running around. Here is a picture of Kenny enjoying himself.

We eventually got sat about 40-minutes after we arrived. So Kenny was approaching his limit. The burgers do not come with fries but you can order them as sides or appetizers. It was nice to see that they had sweet potato fries but we didn't try them. The fries were ok, you could tell that they were just frozen fries not fresh cut like Five-Guys or Fuddruckers. Kenny proceeded to lose it as soon as the burgers arrived. They told us that all their burgers were cooked to 150* (med/well) unless otherwise requested. The burgers were not very good at all. Mine was cooked quite a bit more than Heather's since I had a 2/3 lb burger. It was charred. I was not very impressed. The bun was bland and the extras were just ok. I had tomato, honey cured bacon, lettuce, and American cheese. The tomato was really hard, like it wasn't ripe enough. The bacon was ok but it could have been cooked more. The lettuce and cheese were ok. The worst part of the whole thing was the price. Our burgers, fries, and soda cost about $37 with tip. We could have eaten at Five-Guys twice for what we spent at The Counter Burger (not that we need to do that). So my review is that the Counter Burger is not worth going to. Save yourself some money and go to Five-Guys-Burgers and Fries. The burgers there are much, much better than the Counter Burger.

Tasty Fingers

I guess many kids like to suck on their thumbs. Kenny on the other hand has taken a liking to his first two fingers, the pointer and middle. When we put him down for nap or for bed, we can hear the slurpy sucking of these fingers. He hasn't cared too much for his thumbs, which he has on found a couple times. We have also had to put a bib on Kenny all day, because of the drool. The amount of saliva that comes out can soak through the bib in 10 minutes. Here are some quick photos I took today of him enjoying his jumper.

What a happy baby!

MMMMM, YUM!

Do you know who your neighbors are?

Heather's Dad and Pat sent us some pictures of their new neighbors. There is 4 of them. They look like a rowdy bunch.

Quick update

I know I have been slacking on updating the blog. For the past 3 weeks I have been working late at Walmart, and haven't had enough energy to sit at the computer and blog. I think I'm getting use to the hours now and I'm a bit more functional during the day. Here are some recent pictures of Kenny. The first four are from my dads house last Wednesday, when my sister and I and all 3 kids went to pick him up after his knee surgery. It wasn't as relaxing of a day that he needed, with all the screaming, crying and endless noise of kids. Sorry dad.

Almost got it all...
There we go a fist full of hair. Already bullying his cousins.
...and touch your toes, hold for the count of 5, and relax...Kenny's calisthenics.
Kenny's belly time. This is the first 5 seconds, after that he is screaming his head off. Boy, is he gonna have a shock when he rolls completely over.

Our Little Jumping Bean

Today I decided to put together the jumper we had. I figured he would still be too small for it, like the exersauser. He had too much room in the seat around his belly, and was a little to unstable. The jumper on the other hand fits him great. He looks well supported, and seems to enjoy it. Here are a couple videos I took. And as you can see in the 2nd one, Bogey just can't stand being left out.
